WWE RAW Women’s Championship match officially changed into a Triple threat at WrestleMania Backlash. The match was originally scheduled to be a one on one.
The WWE announced Rhea Ripley’s title defence and opponent before tonight’s episode of RAW. The Nightmare was scheduled to take on Asuka in a rematch from their Wrestlemania 37 encounter in the upcoming pay per view, Wrestlemania Backlash.

The announcement had seem rather odd at the time, due to Charlotte Flair’s involvement in the storyline. The former Champion had already missed out on Wrestlemania. Surely she wasn’t going to be kept away from another pay per view right? Right.

WWE official Sonya Deville, who is seemingly in coherts with the queen, added Charlotte into the mix, much to the annoyance of the champion. Understandably so even. Ripley has already faced Charlotte twice and is yet to pin her. One of her losses even resulted in her dropping the NXT Women’s Championship.
Ripley is surely wary of her new challenger and will want to hold on to the RAW Women’s Championship for as long as possible.
Charlotte has also had quite the rivalry with Asuka. The pair were a tag team not too long ago. In fact, they won the Women’s Tag Team Championships in December last year before dropping it back to Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax.
Asuka and Charlotte Flair seemed to be on a collision course for another Wrestlemania match. However, a pregnancy scare saw WWE change their plans and replace the queen with Ripley instead. The three women will now go head to head for the RAW Women’s Championship at WrestleMania Backlash.
