Here are the predictions for this week’s show.
Roman Reigns
Roman came out for the save last week after a beatdown by Shane McMahon on his cousin Lance Anoa’I. He had a tag match against Drew McIntyre and Elias on SmackDown the night later. The Uso’s have been in a messy feud with the Revival themselves. On WWE Raw 4 June, the Samoan trio will take on Drew McIntyre and The Revival. This match was announced on WWE.com last week.
The United States Championship
Rey Mysterio is slated to relinquish his United States Championship this week. Expect some shenanigans from Samoa Joe who has claimed that he wants what is rightfully his. Kinda true considering the controversial finish to his title defence at Money in the Bank.
Lars Sullivan
Lars will take on all the members of Lucha House Party this Friday at the Super Showdown. The burly wrestler is set to appear on SmackDown for an exclusive interview. That means The Freak might not show up on Raw this week.
Braun Strowman and Bobby Lashley
The two heavyweights were part of the no.1 contenders fatal four-way match. The 2 were strangely eliminated from the match because they took their brawl backstage. Anyway, that was the first seed to their feud and hopefully the WWE will build on that this week. With the 2 set to face each other at Super ShowDown the WWE needs to do something significant because this feud has seen a largely lacklustre buildup to the event.
The Miz
The Miz has been on a losing streak off late. After losing a violent bout against Shane McMahon at Money in the Bank, the A-Lister has pocketed a couple of L’s. he lost to McIntyre Via a Shane interference. However, he lost clean last week as he took the pin in a fatal four-way last week. With Super Showdown on the horizon, it is unlikely that creative will have anything different for him this week.
Ricochet
Ricochet won against Cesaro in what was undoubtedly the match of the night. Hopefully this sparks a feud between the two. Both of these wrestlers are too talented to just be floundering and not having any meaningful matches.
Bray Wyatt and the Firefly Fun House
Last week Bray Wyatt introduced his new friend, the fiend, who he referred to as our protector. Abby the witch made an interesting point about being trapped in a limbo. Could the Firefly funhouse be a figment of Wyatt’s imagination? Hopefully we will find more clarity tonight.
Becky Lynch and Lacey Evans
Last Week on SmackDown Lacey attacked Charlotte after losing her match against Bailey. A couple of weeks before she abandoned the IIconics in their match against Becky, Nikki and Alexa. It looks like the Lady is slowly running out of friends in the WWE. With Lacey slowly gravitating towards Becky, it looks the odds are stacking up against lacey Evans.
R-Truth
R-Truth has been one of the few shining stars in the WWE off late. The made has got an ugly belt over enormously to the point that him winning it back from Elias last week was met with cheers. However, the Benny Hill act of running around can get stale real quick and WWE would be wise to mix their R-Truth Segments with other varieties of comedic backstage segments.
Seth Rollins Vs Lesnar
Brock Lesnar was supposed to announce who he would cash in on last week. However, upon the realization that his contract was valid until next year, The Beast waltzed his way out of the ring. A convoluted mess soon followed with Stephanie McMahon and Paul Heyman getting involved on social media. It was later announced that Brock will be there on Raw and will cash in on Seth Rollins. This could possibly be just another WWE parlor trick to increase ratings and Brock Cashing in tonight is very unlikely. However, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer believes that Brock might walk out tonight, the Universal champion once again. We’ll have to wait and watch on this one to see what happens.
The Undertaker
The WWE announced last week on SmackDown that the Undertaker would appear on WWE Raw June 4, this week. With one week left to go and no build to this match, an appearance from the deadman is likely to set the record straight. Goldberg is set to appear on SmackDown this week, however do not count out a surprise appearance from The Titan tonight.
Also keep an eye out for Renee Young who is reportedly set to bear the brunt of Vince’s anger at her husband Dean Ambrose/Jon Moxley’s surprise appearance at AEW. Keep your other eye on Sami Zayn. If he appears in an embarrassing segment or doesn’t show up at all; it would likely mean that critic of the critics is being punished for his AEW name drop last week. If he appears with no consequences on T.V then it would probably point towards the name drop being scripted.
