WWE’s road to WrestleMania 39 has not officially begun yet, but the rumors and theories already have. And with the next pay-per-view being Royal Rumble next month, fans are also guessing the surprise returns. One name that has been running around over the recent weeks is 2-time AEW champion CM Punk. There are speculations that he might be returning to WWE at the next showcase of immortals. However, a recent report has totally disproved the theory of CM Punk appearing at WrestleMania 39.
The Straight Edged Superstar has been laying low ever since his backstage fight with The Elite following AEW All Out this September. Although there was news that he is in talks with AEW about a potential buyout, nothing has happened as of now.
Moreover, a few credible sources also claimed that WWE was interested in signing Punk if he is freed by AEW. However, according to a recent report, nothing of that sort is going to happen.
WWE never thought of CM Punk as an option for the upcoming WrestleMania
No matter what transpired after AEW’s post-All Out media scrum, some fans want to see The Straight Edged Superstar wrestle. In fact, when the rumors of WWE being interested in him started, some saw it as a blessing in disguise.
However, according to a WWE source who spoke to WrestleStanzzz Newzzz, that won’t be happening anytime soon. A couple of days ago, the Twitter handle of Wrestlestan gave some insights into Punk’s current situation with WWE. It made a tweet that said the company never considered CM Punk as an option for WrestleMania 39.
Moreover, according to Wrestlestan’s WWE source, Punk as an act would be good for business. But Phil Brooks is very bad for business and there is no chance CM Punk will appear at next Wrestlemania.

Although there’s no other confirmation of the news other than this tweet, it certainly will disappoint Punk’s fans. However, there are still more than three months left for WrestleMania 39 and anything can happen in the meantime.
The Straight Edged Superstar recently ignited the rumors of his WWE return
Despite his career going through a tough phase, CM Punk still manages to have fun with his fans. Before signing with AEW, he often teased his in-ring return through comments and posts. Well, he has done something similar this time as well.
A few days ago, the suspended AEW superstar took to his Instagram handle and posted some interesting photos. In his story, CM Punk shared photos during his time in WWE. It was enough to take social media by storm and start the rumors of his WWE return.

Nevertheless, as of now, it is unclear whether AEW will let him go. And even if that happens, how long will be the non-compete clause? However, if CM Punk somehow manages to appear at Wrestlemania 39, it could be an event to remember for ages.
