Pro wrestling has always been deeply fascinated with stables. There was The Four Horseman in the 80’s, the nWo in the 90’s, Evolution in the 00’s and well the Shield in the 2010’s. Unlike the others before them however, the Shield had no hierarchy within or a clear singles star. It was evident from the beginning that Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose (now Jon Moxley) were earmarked for a run at the very top of the business.

All three members went on to win the WWE Championship and became integral components of the promotion. It would not be a stretch to call them the biggest stars in the world of professional wrestling today and all of this wouldn’t have been possible without their early days as a trio that helped endear themselves to the crowd.

However, it appears that the former stablemates aren’t as close as they used to. Although Rollins doesn’t think it’s an issue. He believes that their bond will remain eternal regardless of how often they speak or meet with each other.

Seth Rollins says The Shield isn’t as close as they used to be!

During a conversation with Metro, Rollins was asked about the bond between the Shield members.

“Obviously none of us are as close as we were and we may never be as close as we were during those first two years,” Rollins responded. “Roman and I see each other occasionally at the pay-per-views if he’s on those, and neither of us see Mox ever.”

Despite rarely spending any time together anymore, the bond that they have, he feels, will live forever, regardless of the direction each of their careers takes them in.

“Obviously the bond isn’t as close but it will always exist in the same way that the Horsemen are always gonna be the Horsemen, the nWo are always gonna be the nWo. The Shield has that type of aura about it,” he added. “There’s always gonna be a connection there, no matter what happens or which directions we go.”

All three members of the Shield were WWE Champions on the same night!

On June 19th 2016, Roman Reigns walked into the main event of Money in the Bank as the WWE Champion. He fought and lost to Seth Rollins. However, before he could even celebrate his title win, Moxley, who had won the Money in the Bank contract earlier in the night, cashed in his contract and ended the night as the WWE Champion!

This is far from the only time their careers have been intertwined with each other.

Seth Rollins cashed in his Money in the Bank contract during the WrestleMania match between Reigns and Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship. He won his first World title by pinning Reigns in that match.

Rollins dropped the title after suffering an injury and a tournament was set up to crown the new champion.

Reigns and Moxley met each other in the final and the now Tribal Chief pinned his former stablemate to win his first WWE Championship.

A returning Rollins then fought Reigns for the WWE Championship at the aforementioned Money in the Bank Pay Per View and Moxley pinned Rollins to win his first WWE Championship making it so that every Shield Member pinned each other to win their first WWE Championships!

This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all.
