Brock Lesnar Arrested

Every pro wrestling fan is familiar with the impactful career “The Beast Incarnate” Brock Lesnar has had in WWE. From defeating legends to headlining multiple WrestleMania, the 10-time world champion had done it all. And not just in the squared circle, The Beast has also proved his worth in the world of MMA. In fact, he also had a brief run in NJPW in the late 2000s. However, only a few know that Brock Lesnar once expressed his desire to sign with TNA. The rarely-known incident was recently brought to light by WWE Hall of Famer, Kurt Angle.

On the latest episode of The Kurt Angle Show, the Olympic Gold Medalist shared an anecdote where Brock Lesnar expressed his desire to join TNA. The Hall of Famer also detailed why WWE’s rival promotion refuse to sign a megastar like The Beast Incarnate.

Kurt Angle recalled Brock Lesnar calling him to get a deal with TNA

During the podcast, Angle was asked about the rumors that said Brock Lesnar approached him to join TNA in 2007. The Olympic Gold Medalist then went on share how the whole thing happened. It was the time when Brock Lesnar was not signed with WWE.

Kurt Angle stated The Beast called him and asked whether he could get him in TNA. Lesnar asked Angle the amount he was getting from TNA and added that he would be willing to sign if he could get the same. Although Angle approached TNA, they refused to pay Brock Lesnar that much money.

“Brock calls me. He is not in the WWE. He says, ‘Listen, man. Can you get me in TNA?’ I probably shouldn’t even be saying this now. But you know what? Brock doesn’t care. He said, ‘Hey, what are you making?’ And I said what I was making. He said, ‘If you can get me that, I’ll come.’ I approached TNA, and they said, ‘No, we’re not going to give him that kind of money.’”

Angle also revealed why the company refused to sign such a huge star. The Hall of Famer stated that just like him, TNA was paying a few other superstars seven figures at that time. The company was out of its signing budget and therefore, decided not to have Lesnar.

The Beast Incarnate has been laying low since his Crown Jewel win over Bobby Lashley

Earlier this year at the Royal Rumble, Brock Lesnar lost a dream match against Bobby Lashley thanks to Roman Reigns. However, the 10-time world champion got his rematch at WWE’s recent Saudi show. Crown Jewel 2022 saw both heavyweights colliding once again.

This time, The Beast Incarnate managed to emerge victorious. However, he was dominated by Lashley both during and after the match.

Nevertheless, it is clear that WWE is planning a third match between two of their best heavyweights. Who knows, the next show of shows could be the place where their months-long rivalry comes to an end. However, if TNA had signed Brock Lesnar in 2007, both could have faced each other there. Thanks to their missed opportunity, WWE is now making the most of it.
