Yannick Carrasco to Arsenal: Arsenal are close to complete the loan signing of Yannick Carrasco in the January transfer window.

Arsenal have had a shaky few weeks. The side was knocked out of the FA Cup in the fourth round by Manchester United last week.

However, the side returned to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over Cardiff City last night. They also took a two-point lead over Manchester United who were held to a 2-2 draw by Burnley at Old Trafford.

The club has been linked with a number of signings in the January transfer window. While a move for Denis Suarez looks increasingly close, Arsenal are unlikely to secure the signing of Ivan Perisic.

And so, the club is working swiftly to ensure a second signing in the transfer window, which closes later this week.

Yannick Carrasco to Arsenal:

Carrasco joined Chinese club Dalian Yifang in 2017 from Atletico Madrid, but wants a return to Europe.

The Belgian winger was previously linked with a move to Manchester United, as the Old Trafford side pushed to bring Carrasco back to Europe.

However, the Old Trafford outfit is unlikely to make a move in the transfer window after their interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed that he expects to work with the same squad after the window ends.

Arsenal were previously offered Yannick Carrasco as the Belgian footballer eyed a return to European football, and it seems that Unai Emery has made his mind to bring the winger to the Emirates Stadium.

The Arsenal head coach stated earlier this month that Arsenal ‘can’t’ make a permanent signing in this window. However, he insisted that the club can still negotiate loan deals and was hopeful for arrivals in the window.

While it’s no secret that a deal for Denis Suarez could be on the table, a move for Carrasco could benefit the side.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Alex Iwobi are overburdened with the duty on the wings at the moment, and while Mkhitaryan is out with injury, Iwobi has been inconsistent throughout the season.
