Virgil Van Dijk: Arsenal new signing Nicolas Pepe ends Van Dijk’s incredible streak of not being dribbled past, which spanned over 50 games.

Liverpool’s Virgil Van Dijk is certainly the best defender in the world with his current form. The Dutch International was so good that he boasted a record of successive 50 games, where he wasn’t dribbled past even once.

This mammoth record propelled English FA to award the 27-year-old defender with the PFA player of the year award, as Van Dijk was crucial in Liverpool’s form in the Premier League.

However, every good thing has to come to an end, similar is the case with Van Dijk, as his incredible record of not getting dribbled past in last 50 Premier League games comes to an end.

It was Nicolas Pepe from Arsenal, who ended Van Dijk’s streak, as he was seen making a dribble past the Dutch international to end his glorious run in the Premier League

Even though Van Dijk’s impeccable record is ended but Liverpool are on their winning spree to win their third consecutive Premier League win. The Reds have completely destroyed the visitors with the current scoreline,

Moreover, even after losing the streak Van Dijk has been able to maintain a clean slate until the 85th minute of the game when Lucas Torreira scored. Thus, giving a nice momentum to the Merseyside club in the start of the Premier League with this win.

Arsenal were one big challenge to Liverpool ahead of the third game-week of the Premier League, but Jurgen Klopp’s side has been able to overcome the milestone and secure the three points.

And coming to Van Dijk’s record, it will be recorded as one of the most unachievable records in the football world, and it will take an enormous effort by a player to overcome this mountain in coming years.
