Will India play day-night Test in ICC World Test Championship: The recently elected BCCI President opened on the trending subject in Test cricket.

Former India captain Sourav Ganguly being elected as the new President of BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) has come as a breadth of fresh air for the cricketing fraternity in India.

The development has seen plentiful hopes regarding some fresh changes being made to how cricket is administered in India. Given his history of turning things around, Ganguly is expected to lead India to some intriguing changes.

The 47-year old himself revealed the the current team at the BCCI will “change the lives” of domestic players in India. Being elected uncontested, Ganguly specially mentioned the domestic players forming the “base” of Indian cricket.

Will India play day-night Test in ICC World Test Championship?

While several Test-playing nations have already played a day-night Test, India are yet to make their debut day-night Test. Being asked about the same, Ganguly didn’t confirm anything on the spot.

“We will deal with it. It is too early for me to comment on how we will work on this, but let me take office and then we will discuss this with every member,” Ganguly was quoted as saying by IANS.

Talking precisely about the ongoing ICC World Test Championship, Ganguly talked about how day-night matches can be played in the tournament if both teams agree to the same. The former skipper wasn’t concerned about the Indian players not being able to adjust to the pink ball.

“World Test Championship has day-night Test because Adelaide will host pink-ball Test. I don’t think it is the right call to say that World Test Championship wouldn’t have day-night Tests. With the agreement of both members it can be a day-night or day affair in the World Test Championship

“Day-night Test is the way forward. Every country has to play day-night Test, that’s a long-term future for Test cricket. They [India] are a good side, they will win day-night Test matches also. There is no difference in day-night Test matches and day Tests. It’s just a different ball. They are such class players, they can win,” Ganguly said.
