Tim Paine and Marnus Labuschagne involved in hilarious exchange: The Australian all-rounder missed an instruction from his captain.
During the third day of the second Test of the ongoing Pakistan’s tour of Australia in Adelaide, Australia captain Tim Paine and all-rounder Marnus Labuschagne were involved in a hilarious exchange on the field.
It all happened after the 63rd over when Labuschagne missed an instruction from his captain. After Australia spinner Nathan Lyon completed his over, Paine asked Labuschagne to bowl from the over.
“Bowling, mate” Paine was heard twice on the stump mic. With Labuschagne not listening to him, Paine was heard shouting “You are bowling, mate”. Both Paine and the commentators were then seen realizing the funny side of the whole incident.
Labuschagne, who was fielding at short-leg, was left surprised when he got to know that he was asked to bowl. The 25-year old cricketer subsequently removed his pads and abdominal guard and handed over his jumper to the umpire before bowling the first delivery.

In another day which was dominated by the hosts, Australia reduced Pakistan to 39/3 after enforcing the follow-on. Before rain played spoilsport to invite early stumps, Pakistan were trailing by 248 runs in the second innings with only seven wickets in hand.
It is worth mentioning that Pakistan spinner Yasir Shah registered his maiden Test century in the first innings. Before becoming the last Pakistani batsman to get out, the 33-year old player ended up scoring 113 (213) with the help of 13 fours.
