WATCH: Kane Williamson’s narrow escape against unerring Jofra Archer bouncer
Kane Williamson’s narrow escape: The Kiwi captain put on display exceptional flexibility to leave a brutal bouncer from the English spearhead.
During the fourth day of the second Test of the recently concluded England’s tour of New Zealand in Hamilton, New Zealand captain Kane Williamson put on display exceptional flexibility to leave a brutal bouncer from England fast bowler Jofra Archer.
It all happened on the third delivery of the 18th over when an alert Williamson swayed away from a delivery which gave the impression of hitting him on the helmet.
Apart from the flexible move made by the batsman, him not taking his eyes off the ball came as a significant learning lesson for modern-day batsmen who tend to get hit on the body by short deliveries.

Resuming his innings at 37* on Day 5, Williamson went on to score his 21st Test century to ensure a draw for his team. Remaining unbeaten at Stumps on the final day, Williamson scored 104* (234) with the help of 11 fours.
Williamson was well-supported by veteran batsman Ross Taylor who scored his 19th Test century moments before rain played spoilsport for the last time in the match. Having scored 105* (186) with the help of 11 fours and two sixes, Taylor made sure that England don’t turn things around on Day 5.
Trailing by 101 runs in the second innings, all New Zealand had to do was bat out the day in a match where finding a result was going to be hard. An unbeaten 213-run partnership for the third wicket between Williamson and Taylor did exactly what the doctor ordered for New Zealand.
