Irfan Pathan shuts down Abdul Razzaq for his comments on Jasprit Bumrah and Virat Kohli
Irfan Pathan shuts down Abdul Razzaq for his condensing comments on pace Indian bowler Jasprit Bumrah and skipper Virat Kohli.
Recently, former Pakistani cricketer, Abdul Razzaq made condensing comments on fast Indian bowler Jasprit Bumrah and team skipper Virat Kohli, which earned him a massive backlash from the sub-continent.
To this, India’s former all-rounder cricketer Irfan Pathan has issued a reply, making a reference of his spectacular hat-trick against Pakistan in 2006, which remains to be the only hattrick in the Test cricket and told Kohli and Bumrah to give any heed to Razzaq’s comments.
Pathan was one of the most exciting talents in his earlier days in the Indian cricket team. But days before the start of the series, Javed Miandad had mocked a then 22-year old Pathan by saying:
“Your Irfan Pathans are in every gully and mohalla(side streets) of Pakistan. We don’t even bother to look at them.”
Pathan had then gone on to make Miandad eat his words by picking up a historic hat-trick in the very first over of the third Test. He is still the only bowler to have picked up a hat-trick in the first over of a match.
Recalling that incident, Pathan asked the fans not to ‘pay any heat’ to the latest comments from another ex-Pakistan cricketer, tweeting:
“Irfan jese bowlers hamari gali gali mein paae jate hay” par jab jab ye galli bowler inke samne khela har baar inki gilliyan nikal ke rakh di. Request to all fans not to pay any heat to those unnecessary over the top statements. Just read and 😃…. #bumrah #ViratKohli”

Rough translation: “Bowlers like Irfan are found in every corner of Pakistan” but when this street bowler faced them, he took their wickets all the time.
India will next play against West Indies in the upcoming series, Virat Kohli will be leading the Indian side in both formats, whereas, Bumrah is still unavailable for the series.
