Steve Smith nails the helicopter shot: The Australian batsman played an incredible shot off the Indian fast bowler.

During the third ODI of the ongoing Australia’s tour of India in Bengaluru, Australia batsman Steve Smith registered his ninth ODI century to power Australia to 286/9 in 50 overs after Australia captain Aaron Finch won the toss and chose to bat.

Coming in to bat at No. 3 in the fourth over, Smith almost batted for the whole Australian innings. Known for stitching significant partnership with all-rounder Marnus Labuschagne (54), Smith once again did the same in the name of a 127-run stand for the third wicket.

It was on the first delivery of the 23rd over when Smith scored a boundary off India fast bowler Navdeep Saini to complete his half-century. The right-hand batsman predominantly played in his archetype manner and laid emphasis on rotating the strike in the middle overs.

Having narrowly missed out on a century in the previous ODI in Rajkot, Smith made sure that he crossed the 100-run mark at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. It was on the third delivery of the 44th over when Smith ran a single off Saini to complete his century.

The highlight of Smith’s innings came in the 46th over when he put on display an incredible helicopter shot, once again off Saini. Having already hit a boundary in the over, the visitors scored 16 runs off the over.

Before getting out to India fast bowler Mohammed Shami in the 48th over, Smith ended up scoring a well-made 131 (132) with the help of 14 fours and a six. With bowling figures of 10-0-63-4, Shami was the pick of the Indian bowlers.
