Odion Ighalo confirms decision on his Manchester United future
Odion Ighalo confirms his stance on his Manchester United future, as his loan move with the Red Devils, will come to an end soon.
The Nigerian International Odion Ighalo came to Manchester United on loan during the winter transfer window and gave an impactful start to his time at the club.
However, with the outbreak of the Coronavirus, the league in England is suspended which has prevented him to participate in the further games for the club in the remaining time period.
Which means, he will be heading back to China before the Premier League resumes. But in this while, a fan asked Ighalo on social media, “Would love to remain in Manchester United if you are offered a contract extension #Ighalo.”
To this, he replied, “Of course”. Before the 30-year-old started his spell at Manchester United, he confessed in front of the media how he dreamt of serving the club.

Whereas, even Ole Solskjaer has been impressed with Ighalo’s outbreak in the club, and might extend the stay of Ighalo at the Old Trafford even though he was brought in as a short fix.
“Odion has done really well since he came in and he’s enjoying himself,” Solskjaer said. “And he will improve and get better but he has qualities we saw in him and we needed and we will still need those qualities for next season, so let’s see what we will do.”
“He’s a goalscorer and a striker, he doesn’t worry too much about all that nonsense; build-up play – that’s a joke, obviously. He knows his job and what his role in the team is, and he’s very good with his back to goal, great link player, but maybe the best thing about him is his personality, so he’s got the whole lot really.
“He had three touches before his fourth was the finish. All them touches were high quality but he had to make them to create space for himself. But the strike is on the half-volley, great timing, no one would have saved that one so anyone would have been proud of that finish.”
Now, it remains to be seen what will be decided by the board of Manchester United and his parent club Shanghai Shenhua. As of now, the postponement of Premier League has been extended.
