Andy Murray hints that Tennis is not his priority anymore

Andy Murray has had a tough time ever since he claimed the world number one raking from Novak Djokovic. He was brilliant last year and deservedly became the best in the world. But this year has been a nightmare so far. His latest exit from the Madrid Open has just piled on more pressure on his shoulders as he struggles to regain some form ahead of the French Open. But Murray looks to be calm as he recently spoke about his on-field and off-field issues in an interview in which Murray hints that tennis is not his priority anymore.

‘I’m very happy’, he told the Spanish website MARCA early this week. ‘If it was something that happened when I was younger or had less experience, I would have felt a lot of pressure. But I’ve been on the circuit for 12 years. I’ve got a family … I’m not that concerned about being No. 1 or having to win all the tournaments. I’m very happy to be there, and will try to stay there as long as possible. This year has not been as good as I would like, but I know if I want to stay there I have to improve.’

‘Basically, it changes your perspective, in a good way’, he said speaking about the paternity. He added that he has no time to get angry about losses ‘because my family is more important, and I am more interested in my daughter than being worried about tennis every moment. Fatherhood has given me stability. We intend on having more kids. The first experience has been fabulous, and we hope to have more.’
