“If LeBron James said he hooping, we all hooping”- Patrick Beverley’s tweet appears to mock Lakers star
Los Angeles Clippers guard Patrick Beverley sent out a tweet today about LeBron James and the NBA restart, one one that appears to mock Lakers star
Lakers Star LeBron James is one of the most influential athletes in the NBA and has often been the flag bearer for voicing concerns of both the players and fans.
However, with a few players unhappy with the NBA re-start, LeBron isn’t exactly engaging in a lot of public dialogue. He chose not to be a part of the Kyrie Irving initiated zoom call to discuss the NBA restart.
LeBron James believes that playing in Orlando would not affect his ability to inspire change in the society. Austin Rivers and Danny Green are also on the same page with James.
Patrick Beverley’s tweet for LeBron James
Weighing in on the debate today, Patrick Beverley posted a tweet, saying that if LeBron James wanted to play basketball, everyone else in the league would have to follow suit.
Hoopers say what y’all want. If @KingJames said he hooping. We all hooping. Not Personal only BUSINESS🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 🙏🏾 #StayWoke ✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿
— Patrick Beverley (@patbev21) June 14, 2020
While on the face of it, it seems like he is trying to address how influential LeBron James is in the world of basketball; the ‘strictly business, not personal’ part of the tweet makes it sound like a dig.
Why this feel like a back handed compliment.

Y’all all missed the sarcasm

A lot of fans feel that Beverley is trying to indicate the amount of power that LeBron has in influencing decisions made by the NBA. And despite the efforts of many players, the NBA would still do, whatever they need to do in order to please LeBron James.
Lakers’ Dwight Howard does not want league restart
Dwight Howard, Kyrie Irving and other major NBA stars are not in the favor of NBA return. Irving hosted a zoom conference to discuss the Walt Disney World restart. Howard in his statement said that for him uniting his community is more important than basketball at this particular time.
Clippers and Lakers both solid contenders for the title
Lakers with a (49-14) record and Clipper with a (44-20) record are sitting on the 1st and the 2nd spot of the Western Conference. Both teams have the potential to win the NBA title this season
The players and the Association need to talk about the ongoing situation in a more solidified way in order to resume the season with a majority of players being on board with the idea.
