Margaret Court’s anti-gay rights stance is an embarrassment
Tennis legend, Margaret Court has landed herself in hot water, after she made some pretty controversial anti-gay remarks. She made these remarks in response to the Qanta CEO’s comments, in which he advocated same sex marriage. Quite frankly, Margaret Court’s anti-gay rights stance is an embarrassment.
This is what Margaet Court had to say,

“I am disappointed that Qantas has become an active promoter for same sex marriage,” Ms Court said in a letter to the editor published in The West Australian on Thursday. “I believe in marriage as a union between a man and a woman as stated in the Bible. Your statement leaves me no option but to use other airlines where possible for my extensive travelling.”
A notable point was made by a fellow twitterati, Phil Branagan,
“Using the same logic, Ms Court will surely understand if one was to boycott the stadium named in her honor due to her social intolerance . . .”
Not surprisingly, these are not the first anti-gay comments that Margaret has said on record. This is what Margaret had to say a a few years ago.

“To legitimize what God calls abominable sexual practices that include sodomy, reveals our ignorance as to the ills that come when society is forced to accept law that violates their very own God-given nature.”
It is shameful that a tennis great is coming out with such comments. This is 2017, a world in which we no longer believe in such ridiculous discrimination.
Considering the fact that Virgin Airlines also support gay marriages, we can assume that Margaret Court will not be taking off anytime soon.
