The Rock reveals who his G.O.A.T is and it’s not Stone Cold Steve Austin. The Texas Rattlesnake did get a close second place though.

The Rock is arguably one of, if not the greatest success stories in the WWE. A man who was once booed heavily by the crowd, soon became one of the biggest stars in the promotion. Much of his success though, can be attributed to his rivalry with Stone Cold Steve Austin.

The Texan Rattlesnake was the face of the Attitude Era, The Rock on the other hand, charted his way to the top as a charismatic villain. Together, they defined the greatest era of professional wrestling. For many, any of the two could be labelled the greatest of all time. For the Rock however, neither of them deserves that title.

WWE on FOX uploaded a picture of both Stone Cold and the Rock on their Twitter account. The picture was captioned: Who is your G.O.A.T.? 🔁 @steveaustinBSR ♥️ @TheRock

The Rock replied to the post naming ‘Downtown Bruno’ as his pick.

“In wrestling? Easy answer; when I was 15 (broke & evicted) this man let me live with him in Nashville 🙏🏾 Downtown Bruno, “The Rock wrote. “Most don’t know who Bruno is but a few do. My brother @steveaustinBSR comes in a very close 2nd 🤣 Cheers to life’s wild and unpredictable journey 🍻 #goat”


Downtown Bruno was played by Bruno Lauer. He joined the WWE in 1991 as Harvey Wippleman. He was a heel manager for much of his run. On January 31, 2000, Wippleman disguised himself as a woman and became the first and only man to win the WWF Women’s Championship.

He currently works backstage in the WWE. However, he occasionally manages in the Memphis area as Downtown Bruno.
