Indian Junior Shooters come back home with 11 medals

India’s shooting future seems to be in safe hands, as the junior shooting team returned home with 11 medals from the 27th meeting of ‘Shooting Hopes’, a world renowned international competition in the junior circuit. The event was held in Prague, Czech Republic.

The event sees a huge footfall of junior stars from all over the globe, who compete in 14 different air and pistol events to stamp their supremacy in the junior circuit. A total of 495 shooters from 23 countries took part in this event.

The Indian contingent garnered 11 medals at the tournament, 3 gold, 4 silver and 4 bronze.

Anmol Jain was the most successful Indian, as he won a team gold and a team silver in the Junior men’s 10m Air Pistol and 50m Pistol events respectively, along with an individual silver in the 50m pistol event.

Anmol was also part of the ISSF World cup stage in Munich.

Other notable performances were from Arjun Babuta, who won the silver medal in the Junior men’s 10m air rifle final with a  round score of 249 and a qualification score of 623.9.

Saurabh Chaudhary and Anish won bronze medals in the Junior men’s 10m Air Pistol and Junior men’s 25m Rapid Fire Pistol event respectively.

Hopefully this young Indian contingent goes on to represent the country at the senior level as well.
