Dom Sibley dismissal vs West Indies: Watch English opener shoulders arms to Shannon Gabriel in Southampton Test
Dom Sibley dismissal vs West Indies: The English opening batsman walked back to the pavilion without even getting off the mark.
During the first day of the first Test of the ongoing West Indies’ tour of England in Southampton, West Indies fast bowler Shannon Gabrial drew first blood in the form of England opening batsman Dom Sibley (0).
It was on the fourth delivery of the second over that Sibley misread an incoming delivery from Gabriel as his attempt to leave the ball saw the ball hitting the top of off-stump.
Playing his seventh Test match, Sibley returned without scoring for the first time in his international career. With England captain Ben Stokes winning the toss and opting to bat, he would have expected the opening duo to provide a decent start to the hosts.

Included into the 15-member squad last week, Gabriel making early inroads into the English batting lineup was a reason why the team management made the decision around his inclusion in the first place.
Persisting with the combination in their last Test, England sent batsman Joe Denly in to bat at No. 3 despite having the option of sending another opening batsman in Zac Crawley at the same position.
With the home team scoring 1/1 in three overs, players had to return back to the pavilion as rain once again affected the match after the first session got washed out.
