Twitter goes into MELTDOWN as Andy Murray crashes out of the French Open
For all the talk of Andy Murray having finally turned the corner, the world number crashed out of the French Open at the hands of Stan Wawrinka. In what was a scintillating game of tennis, Stan beat Murray 6-7 6-3 5-7 7-6 6-1, to enter only his second French Open final.
This was a close match right from the get go, as Murray just shaded the first set 7-6. Stan then won the second set 6-3 while Murray took the next one 7-5. Stan then displayed some superb tennis in the fourth set, and finally won it 7-6 taking the game into a deciding final set.
The final set was surprisingly one sided, as Murray seemed to have lost his confidence. Stan Wawrinka won the last set 6-1 and thus reached the final of the French Open 2017.
Here are the Twitter reactions from the match.
"I'm proud of the tournament I had…one tiebreak from getting into final when I came into the tournament really struggling." -Andy Murray

Wawrinka's win means Djokovic will fall to No. 4 in the rankings on Monday. Wawrinka will be No. 2 if he wins the title or Nadal loses today

87 winners for Wawrinka. Against Murray, that takes the heaviest artillery available

Wawrinka new world number 2 with a title at #RG17 of if Nadal loses today.
If Nadal wins #RG17 then Nadal #2, Wawrinka #3

Nadal now has to go trough Thiem and Wawrinka. Likely way more difficult than going through the world No. 2 and then the world No. 1.

As if men's tennis did not have enough great rivalries at the top, Murray now leads Wawrinka 10-8. It is 3-3 in Grand Slam tournaments
