Dustin Poirier might enter the Octagon again in 2020, as in a tweet he has given an indication of what the future may have in store for him and his next opponent. Dustin is one of the top prospects when it comes to the Lightweight division, and in contention to again get a title fight soon.
Who Could be Dustin Poirier’s Next Opponent?
There are speculations that Dustin Poirier may face Tony Ferguson at the end of the year, and the winner of the fight may go up against the Lightweight champion, who at this point is Khabib Nurmagomedov, but come October 24 and we might see the Title changing hands, since Justin Gaethje is more than a capable contender.
For Dustin Poirier, a fight with Conor McGregor may also be potentially on the cards. Khabib Nurmagomedov recently stated McGregor as a potential opponent for himself, if he (Conor) goes on to challenge Poirier and beats him. However, the fight between Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor is least likely, since Conor still needs to come out from the retirement phase. Moreover, Dana White has already affirmed that UFC has no plans for McGregor yet, and he will not enter the Octagon again in 2020.
