‘Marcus Morris ejected because of his reputation’- Doc Rivers slams Luka Doncic foul decision
Speaking to ESPN’s sideline reporter at the end of the first quarter of Game 6, Doc Rivers said he believed Marcus Morris had been hard done by the referees.
Marcus Morris received a technical foul of the flagrant 2 category for an allegedly hostile act of hitting Luka Doncic across the head late in the first quarter. The call was initially a technical, and with the players coming together for an altercation, the referees stopped play and went to the replay center to confirm their impressions of the incident.

Doc Rivers says Marcus Morris was making a play for the ball, ejection too harsh
When asked by ESPN’s sideline reporter at the end of Q1 what he thought about the referees’ judgement, Rivers declared that he felt this was a call given by the referees based on Morris’s reputation rather than for the foul itself.
According to Doc, Morris was making an honest play for the ball, and even if he hit Luka across the face, it wasn’t with the intent to hurt him.
” I thought he got ejected because he is Marcus, to be honest” Doc Rivers said.

“I thought he was making a play for the ball and his hand followed through, it’s a play that happens every game. But we can’t worry about that, we gotta play better. Our shot selection hasn’t been great, so we have to improve that.”
The LA Clippers went into the locker room at halftime in possession of a 57-51 lead after holding the Mavs to only 17 points in the second quarter.
