“It’s time for him to quit”- Eddie Jordan on Toto Wolff’s ongoing stint with Mercedes
“It’s time for him to quit”- Eddie Jordan on why Toto Wolff should end his time in Mercedes, with the team rumoured to sell itself.
Eddie Jordan believes that it is a possibility that this might be the last season of Toto Wolff with Mercedes, with the latter speculated to join hands with Aston Martin’s vision.
And on the other hand, Mercedes reportedly ready to sell its 70% stakes to Ineos. “That’s a possibility,” Jordan responds when he is asked by Rob Kamphues and Robert Doornbos at Formule 1 cafe
“He’s been sensational. But it’s time for him to quit. He has already won everything. And he’s created a myth around Lewis Hamilton and the team.
“You have to remember in life that there are good times to go and very bad times. And for Toto, that very good moment is now. If I were his advisor, I would say: Get out of there, please Toto. Take the money that’s on the table. You won’t get it that good.’
Last week only, Jordan dropped the rumour that Mercedes is set to make the transaction that will make Daimler lose the majority stake in Formula 1 team.
Toto Wolff rubbished the claim
Despite the ongoing rumours, Wolff has constantly maintained that Daimler is not going to sell their stakes in the team, but on his future with Mercedes, he hasn’t been outspoken.
It is now upon future to tell whether Mercedes will remain in Formula 1 or not. If it’s true, then surely it would be interesting to witness the transition.
