Meet Ibai LLanos: Everything you need to know about Streamer of the Year 2020 award winner
Ibai Llanos was recently awarded The Streamer of the Year by the Esports Awards 2020. Many english speaking esports fans may not be familiar with Ibai. Here’s everything you need to know about him.
The Esports Awards 2020 was recently concluded in a glitzy ceremony. Many streamers and organizations were awarded for their hard work and creativity. One of them was Ibai – the 25 year old presenter also a part of the G2 Esports.
Ibai is a well known streamer from Bilbao in Spain and presenter in the spanish speaking esports world. It wouldn’t be a surprise as many English speaking fans will also look at his streams now that he was presented with the Streamer of the Year award.
Ibai Llanos: Rise to fame –
In 2014, at just 19, Ibai auditioned as a caster at the Professional Video Game League in Bilbao, Spain. The Professional Video Game League or LVP is one of the biggest Esports companies in Spain.
They broadcast Call of Duty, League of Legends, FIFA and many other games. It was here that at LVP that he got his big break and since then League of Legends fans adore him. He soon began casting for League Of legends EU LCS and Worlds. In between he also casted for Fortnite and FIFA.
Ibai is a voice actor in FIFA 20 and 21’s Volta game mode. Apart from Esports, in 2018 Ibai was in the commentary box for two of La Liga’s football matches – Barcelona vs Athletic Bilbao and Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid.
Signing for G2 Esports and 2020 at a glance –
It was in February 2020 that Ibai signed for G2. He is working for them as a streamer and content creator. It was a long time coming and many fans had predicted such a move would happen. Ibai’s popularity soared particularly in the lockdown period and now he entirely devotes his time to Twitch streams.
He has hosted many big events like the La Liga Santander Challenge, a charity event in collaboration with La Liga Santander. 1 million people watched it and raised 180,000 Euros for charity. Ibai is also behind the Ibaivision – a spanish singing competition like Eurovision. He regularly collaborates with big streamers and stars like Sergio Aguero and fans love him for his entertaining content.
He has about 4 million subs on his YouTube channel and 3.7 million followers on Twitch. The numbers certainly don’t lie and fans would love to see what more content Ibai can come up with.
