‘Lakers should send me a Thank You card’: LaVar Ball gives twisted logic on why LeBron James and co. won because of him
On his appearance on the Club Shay Shay Podcast recently, LaVar Ball once again made the headlines by dissing the Lakers.
One of the infamous soundbyte generators around the NBA, LaVar has long honed his reputation as a loudmouth. He takes considerable pride at what he considers as ‘living inside people’s heads’. The way he’s run his mouth has attracted a lot of attention towards his kids, both from players in the NBA as well as from the general public.
While his demeanour has put a target on his sons’ backs, Lonzo, for instance still doesn’t begrudge him for it. He believes it is just LaVar’s belief in their talent that makes him so animated in his praise for them.
LaVar Ball’s twisted logic as to why the Lakers and LeBron James should thank him
Appearing on the Club Shay Shay Podcast, LaVar tried to diminish the Lakers’ title win. He also managed to squeeze in some self-praise while answering Shannon’s questions:
“Heck no, they in the bubble. They’re in the bubble and all this stuff goes right.”
LaVar continued in the same vein with his pompous talk:
“Like I told them, they need to send me a Thank You card on the fact that I gave incentive to win. I said they’d never ever, ever, ever win. You know they was talking about that the whole year.”
“What did you say last year that somebody remembers? That’s how I be living in people’s heads…just so they can say, ‘I told you that you was wrong.’ I still go to bed, take me a nap, eat my donuts and I don’t think about nothing. They’ve been thinking about this for a whole year.”
What will LeBron James and the Lakers make of LaVar’s comments?
LaVar has barely been given any credence by the top players in the league. LeBron has not spoken about LaVar since they acquired Anthony Davis. It is highly unlikely that he loses any sleep over LaVar’s opinion of his achievements.
