‘He’s drawing up plays!’: Russell Westbrook induces hysterics when he takes over as Wizards coach from Scott Brooks
Russell Westbrook was seen drawing plays for his teammates in today’s matchup against the Nets
The Washington Wizards opened up their preseason today. Their first matchup was the Brooklyn Nets who featured Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving making a recovery from injury.
The Wizards faced their opponents without two of their stars. Both Bradley Beal and Russell Westbrook were not on the floor for the Wizards tonight.
The two stars were rested as the Wizards Head Coach Scott Brooks says the team needs to be prepared to play without them in possible back to back schedule situations. However, there was ample talent displayed by the other Wizard players to make us feel this team can make a big playoff push later in the season.
Russell Westbrook takes over as the coach for the Wizards
Just because Brodie wasn’t playing today doesn’t mean he wasn’t involved. The former MVP made his presence felt in the game by taking over the coaching part from Scott Brooks. During the game, it was seen that Russ was drawing up plays for the team and had the coach’s board in his hand.

The 32-year-old guard seems to be getting along well with the Wizards. During the training camp, there were multiple instances that showed that Brodie was getting along well with the rest of the teammates.
Russ is already familiar with Scott Brooks. Brooks used to be Westbrook’s HC on the Thunder from 2008-2015. The two of them know each other pretty well and get along too. The Wizards seem like a very well balanced side this season, and can make a push to late in the playoffs in the Eastern Conference.
