“We’ve got to get creative with LeBron James’ birthday celebrations”: Anthony Davis reveals plans for Lakers star’s 36th birthday
Following their defeat to the Blazers, Anthony Davis said the Lakers are planning a low-key 36th birthday for LeBron James.
James entered the league at the age of 18 years and 8 months. By next year, he will have been in the NBA for half his life – a truly staggering achievement. James has made an All-NBA team for each of the past 16 seasons. One might as well name the MVP award the LeBron James Award of Excellence, such has been his consistency.
Even with practically nothing left to prove in his career, James is not going gentle into the dark night of retirement. At the age of 36, he remains the preeminent force in the league – the undisputed best player. His Finals MVP run in the bubble underlines it better than anything.
Anthony Davis says LeBron James will keep 36th birthday celebrations lowkey
Anthony Davis was the main reason the Lakers lost to the Blazers at Staples Center on Monday night. He definitely seemed a bit down from his performance in the post-game presser. He did, however, answer all questions. One of those was about the Lakers’ plans for James’ upcoming birthday:
“Anthony Davis on what they’ll do to celebrate LeBron’s 36th birthday on Weds: “There’s not much we really can do because of all the rules and restrictions. We’ve seen guys violate those restrictions and have to sit out. We definitely don’t want to violate any rules…”

LeBron, who’s a family man, sounds definitely like the type to enjoy low-key gatherings. In any event, the Lakers are going to unveil something special for The King – that’s for sure.
