“It’s not a big difference from junior racing” – Mick Schumacher is fully prepared for the step up to Formula 1 with Haas.
Mick Schumacher will be following in his dad’s footsteps and make his F1 debut, with American team Haas this season. The reigning F2 champion is making the step up to realize his dream of racing for Ferrari this decade. But, surprisingly, as per GPFans.com, Schumacher Jr. doesn’t believe there is much difference between Formula 2 and Formula 1.
“It’s great to be driving in Formula 1 and it’s great to be driving with great drivers. But, to be honest, it’s not a big difference from junior racing. Obviously, every single year is a very competitive year that I have been in at the moment.”

Schumacher on the Young Drivers Test (YTD)
Mick tested for Haas during the season-ending Young Drivers Test (YTD) at Abu Dhabi. Earlier, he missed his FP1 session as part of the Eifel GP due to bad weather. Come March, he will partner Nikita Mazepin to help Haas overtake Alfa Romeo in the points tally.
“It’s strange the first time you get into an FP1 and everybody has been driving the whole season and you’re the newcomer but I think that for sure will change next year and I will feel much more established in a position.”
“Any running is good running and great preparations for me for next year. The FP1 [outing] was really to get that first taste and then the young driver test was really for me to work on certain things such as long runs which, obviously, are going to be very important.”
