“Can you imagine James Harden’s lifestyle in New York?”: Bill Simmons explains why he’s skeptical about Brooklyn Nets acquiring the Beard
Bill Simmons questions whether the Nets gave up too much to bring a ‘disinterested’ James Harden to New York City.
The Ringer founder, Bill Simmons did not have nice things to say about James Harden during his recent podcast appearance. He recently made an appearance on the Ryen Russillo podcast where he discussed the Nets blockbuster trade for James Harden.
For starters, Bill is definitely not a Harden fan as he spent most of the segment critiquing his physique. Additionally, he believes that Harden is disinterested in playing basketball and will be a bad presence in the Nets locker room.
Among other things, Bill had specifically drawn attention to Harden’s fondness of strip clubs. He jokingly questioned whether James Harden could revolutionize the strip club industry in New York. Harden is not a conventional athlete in that he makes no attempt to guard his personal life. This has led to him being the subject of several NSFW jokes. Among his many questionable habits,
Yesterday, GMs of NBA teams were putting together packages hoping to lure James Harden…Today, GMs of strip clubs are doing the same.

Will James Harden’s lavish lifestyle affect the Brooklyn Nets
James Harden’s lifestyle has not had a massive impact on his game thus far. Hence, it is unlikely that anything will change once he is in Brooklyn.
With that said, he has been fined by the league for violating COVID-19 protocol after he was spotted at a strip club in Houston. He will definitely need to exercise care so as to not adversely impact the Nets.
Harden himself has begun participating in the strip club discourse after he was spotted liking a meme regarding Houston strippers missing him. This may seem humorous to the average fan, however, strip club owners in Brooklyn have taken notice. It will definitely be interesting to see which strip clubs in Brooklyn win James Harden’s heart.
It will also be interesting to see if James Harden’s popularity amongst rappers will provide him access to VIP treatment. If there is one thing that NBA fans know for sure, it is that James Harden will always be at the top of his game. We sincerely hope that Harden benefits both the economy and the basketball franchise that Brooklyn has to offer.
