“I’m happy to help where I can”- Sebastian Vettel throws come and take my help offer to Mick Schumacher ahead of his Formula 1 debut.

Sebastian Vettel is among the list of Germans who have left a mark in Formula 1’s history. Now, with another compatriot of his and especially the son of Michael Schumacher is coming in, Vettel is seen as his guiding angel in the cut-throat competition.

Having claimed that Michael mentored the 33-year-old German in the sport during the initial days of his career, it turns out to be a time to return the favour for Vettel.

Speaking to the Skysports, Vettel has confessed that he will be forever there to help Mick Schumacher, as he is set to make his debut for Haas in 2021.

“I still am a Michael fan. and I’m happy to help where I can,” said Vettel. “Mick is a great guy, and I obviously have an extraordinary connection to his father.”

“It’s a shame that Michael is not able to witness Mick’s progression in the last years and his step now into Formula 1. From my side, I really like him, we get along well, and I’m happy to tell him everything I know.”

Mick Schumacher adores Sebastian Vettel

Mick was still a young boy when Vettel was at his peak and amassing championship titles, while his father returned to f1 for a brief spell from 2010 to 2012. Thus, leaving a great impression for Mick towards Vettel.

In a recent interview with German publication Bild, the young Schumacher said that “I think what my dad was to Sebastian, he is for me someone that I’m close to.”

Vettel responded: “I’m flattered! Obviously, I watched his father win a lot more races than he could have watched me win!” Asked if he would be a father figure to Mick, Vettel then explained that he felt it was also important for him to forge his own F1 path.

“I will be happy to help, but the way I look at him, I see him as a person,” said Vettel, who has joined Aston Martin from Ferrari for 2021.
