“Zion Williamson is my first teammate who’s as talented as me”: Pelicans’ Brandon Ingram appears to snub LeBron James while praising his co-star
Brandon Ingram heaped some praise on first-time All-Star and teammate Zion Williamson at the expense of one LeBron James.
Zion Williamson seems to score as effortlessly in the paint as anyone we’ve ever seen. The former Duke forward has been putting up some truly monstrous numbers this season.
Still less than 60 games into his NBA career, Zion has already had games where he hasn’t missed from inside the paint. With competition for forward places a little easier in this year’s West, Zion’s All-Star case was all the more clearer.
Although his place may have come at the cost of his teammate Brandon Ingram, the latter has nothing but love for his teammate. The former Lakers’ #2 pick was himself a first-time selection last year.

After the Pelicans’ emphatic win over Detroit at home last night, they are just 1 game behind the Grizzlies in the race for the final play-in berth. This has happened on the bacck of Zion’s excellent scoring.
The Duke product is averaging 25.3 points per game on a whopping 62% field goal percentage. This is before he’s even tapped his full potential as a defender. Brandon Ingram seems to think he’s a generational talent, which Zion definitely is:
“I’ve never played with a player as talented as me. He’s a generational talent.”

We have to remember that Ingram has also been a teammate of LeBron James for a season. Ingram may simply have had a brain fart in expressing admiration for his teammate. Zion has, after all, been called the ‘next LeBron’ on account of his pure physical dominance.
