“They gotta figure it out, the NBA has to do better”: Lakers’ PG Dennis Schroder publicly calls out NBA’s COVID-19 Policy after helping LeBron James to a win over Blazers

Lakers’ Point Guard Dennis Schroder publicly shames the NBA for its flawed COVID-19 Policy, hopes they can do better.

The Los Angeles Lakers ended their four-game losing streak last night, as they finally managed to register a win. They beat the Portland Trailblazers 102-93.

LeBron James felt like he had suddenly received a boost, as the 4x MVP scored 28 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, and recorded 7 assists. Dennis Schroder, returning after 4 games, contributed with 22 points of his own.

The Blazers last night were outmatched on the boards and were troubled by their turnovers. Damian Lillard scored a game-high 35 points and dished 7 assists. Gary Trent Jr. added 19 points as well, but the Blazers couldn’t find the punch to take down the defending champions.

“The NBA has to do better”: Dennis Schroder

Dennis Schroder had been ruled out for an entire week by the NBA due to contact tracing and their COVID-19 policy. Schroder was pulling up to the Staples Center for the Nets game when he was told he has to quarantine for a week. Dennis revealed that he apparently violated contact tracing protocol after an interaction with a household mate.

Talking with the media, Schroder talked about how difficult the past week was for him. Playing video games, working out in his spare room, communicating with his teammates about matches through texts instead of being there physically. He also talked about how he felt about the policy and how NBA needs to do better.

Dennis Schroder was discussing the health and safety protocols, said, “NBA has to do better,” and the Zoom feed immediately dropped.

Schroder did not elaborate on how he wants the NBA to improve the protocols, but he was quirked by the quartine despite the lack of consistent positive tests.

The Lakers were sure elated to have their Point Guard back, and it showed. They played with different energy altogether and looked like the defending champions they are.
