“Shaquille O’Neal was the victim of an arson attempt”: Lakers legend’s Krispy Kreme store in Atlanta revealed to have burned down due to fire started intentionally

A Krispy Kreme store owned by Shaquille O’Neal in Atlanta caught fire. It is being suspected that it was an attempt at arson.

Shaquille O’Neal was a dominant player in his era. He was a smart player who knew how to get buckets. But after his retirement, Shaq showed his wit in the business end by creating a massive new worth of $400 million.

Shaq is now known for his business mind and owns 17 Auntie Annie’s Pretzels restaurants, 40 fitness centres, 150 car washes, many Las Vegas night clubs and many more franchises. One of his ownerships is a Krispy Kreme franchise at Ponce de Leon Avenue, Atlanta.

Tragically, a fire broke out on February 10th, destroying the former Lakers legend’s franchise. On Friday, the Atlanta Fire Rescue revealed how the unfortunate information took place. Sargent Cortez Stafford confirmed in a statement that the fire was intentionally sparked. He added:

“The investigators believe the fire was intentionally set on the exterior of the building. The fire spread quickly to the interior of the structure causing catastrophic damage.”

‘We will be back stronger than before’: Shaquille O’Neal promises to re-open the store

Shaquille O’Neal has been lauded in the NBA fraternity for his successful business endeavours after retirement. He had initially purchased the Krispy Kreme store back in 2016 and became the spokesperson for the company.

In his Instagram post, Shaq committed to re-open the store and vowed it would be stronger than before. He said:

“Hope no one was injured. But we will be back stronger than ever.”

Krispy Kreme, in a statement, mentioned how determined they are to bring back the shop on its feet. They added:

“We continue to work with authorities to assess the damage and are uncertain at this point how long the shop will be closed. But as stated earlier, we’re determined to be back better and sweeter than ever!”

Officials are offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction arsonist. Knowing the 7-foot-1 big man Shaq is, he will make sure to give his everything for the restoration of his doughnut chain.
