“Steph Curry is the most influential player today”: Shaquille O’Neal explains how the Warriors legend has changed basketball forever
Lakers’ legend Shaquille O’Neal talks about the influence Stephen Curry has had on the game of basketball
What comes to mind when you think about Stephen Curry? Is it high-flying threes from basically any part of the court, or is it flashy ball-handling? How about all of that and so much more.
The 32-year-old 2x MVP has a very impressive resume to his name, but more often than not, it’s the things that don’t get much attention that are more impressive.
Stephen Curry revolutionized the league with his sharpshooting from the deep. He also is very lethal with his off-the-ball movement, and it’s his unselfishness that is his deadliest weapon.
Shaquille O’Neal calls Stephen Curry the most influential player in the last 30 years
There have been a lot of game-changing players in the last 3 decades. However, Shaq believes the most influential among them is none other than Stephen Curry.
Shaq was recently on the Dan Patrick Show, where Dan Patrick made a claim. He said Steph Curry is the most influential player in the last 30 years, as he gave hope to everyone that they can play in the NBA. Shaq agreed, and said,
“I’m watching these little kids now and I’m like, ‘Bro, I’ve never seen a little kid do a dribble like that, shoot like that.’ Yes, I would agree.”
There are a lot of big names such as Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, and Shaq himself who have played in the same span, but for Shaq to give Curry this honor says a lot.
Curry is neither overly athletic, neither is he overly tall, standing at 6’3″. It’s his hard work and perseverance that got him where he is right now, and hence he serves as a perfect example for kids who want to make it to the league.
