"Chris Paul will be a hell of a coach": Executives around the NBA believe the Suns' star is destined for a career as a head coach

League Executives around the NBA believe that Chris Paul is very likely to become a head coach after his playing career.

Chris Paul has been one of the highest IQ players in the NBA since his season as a rookie. And, over the years, the 35-year-old has also developed into an excellent leader, something that has been on full display with the Phoenix Suns this season.

While this is true, many are skeptical on whether his smarts will translate as a head coach, and justifiably so. Even some of the greatest players to grace the court have had terrible tenures as head coaches.

However, according to reports, it seems a majority of league executives are entirely convinced on the matter, and even believe that Chris Paul has the chance to be a great head coach.

As Chris Paul is starting to reach the end of his career, the chatter of him becoming a head coach is only growing louder. Doing his research on the topic, this is what Bleacher Report’s Sherrod Blakely had to say on the matter.

“The consensus among league executives is the next player to make a similar leap to calling plays will be Chris Paul.”

As Blakely continued his research on the matter, an unnamed executive came forward with his opinion on the matter.

“You look at his leadership, the fact that every team he winds up with is better once he gets there than they were before he arrived… It makes you believe that he’ll be a hell of a coach. I think any organization would be crazy not to see if there’s a way to get him on board when he’s done playing.”

Only time will really tell what Chris Paul decides to do in the future, and how well it will go. However, we are among those who believe that he indeed has the ability to become an excellent head coach if he ever makes that decision.
