Amanda Nunes destroys Megan Anderson in first round of UFC 259 encounter
Amanda Nunes destroys Megan Anderson in first round of UFC 259 encounter. The fight barely lasted a little over a couple of minutes.
If there’s still people out there who do not think that Amanda Nunes is the greatest female fighter in the history of UFC, her performance tonight presented a good case to help change their minds. Facing former Invicta Champion, Megan Anderson, Nunes completely dominated her opponent in the first round itself.

The Featherweight encounter opened with Nunes landing a calf kick and a right hand. She followed that with a combination, bringing Anderson to the ground. Nunes then transitioned into an armbar forcing her opponnent to submit, cementing her second Featherweight title defense and her 12th consecutive win.

Nunes win was so dominant that she was barely touched by her opponent. After the match she said:
“It’s like the lion is always dangerous, but when she has a baby, nobody can stop her. Ever. I’m more dangerous now with my little girl, so nobody’s gonna stop me. I’m gonna retire undefeated and with the two belts at home.”
With her win tonight, Nunes has more or less beaten every female contender she has in the featherweight division. There aren’t many in the women in this disvision that she hasn’t already faced and beaten in the Bantamweight division.
With the UFC failing to strenthen the division or developing it, it is looking more than likely that the title could very soon be dropped by the promotion and if it does than what a match to end its lineage with.
