“OH MY GOD!”: Golden State Warriors bench gets hyped up as Lakers’ Kyle Kuzma airballs a technical free throw

Despite their humbling loss, the Golden State Warriors bench blew up when they saw Kyle Kuzma miss a technical foul Free-Throw.

The Golden State Warriors got blown out 128-97 by the Los Angeles Lakers. They did not have many moments to look back at the match and be happy about it. Stephen Curry led the way, scoring 27 points. Curry had two assists in the game, and with his second assist, he became the Warriors’ All-Time Assists leader.

Montrezl Harrell dominated the Dubs, scoring 27 points. LeBron James recorded yet another triple-double, scoring 22 points, grabbing 10 rebounds, and dishing out 11 assists.

The Lakers’ bench came up big, as Kyle Kuzma and Talen Horton-Tucker scored 17 and 18 points respectively. Their combined scoring barrage was all too much for the Dubs, who fell more and more behind as the game progressed.

In the 2nd quarter of the game, the referees issued James Wiseman a technical foul against Montrezl Harrell. For the Technical Free-Throw, the Lakers decided to send Kuzma to the charity stripe. There, Kuzma ended up air-balling the free-throw.

As it can be seen from the clip, the Warriors bench gave Kuz a hard-time for air-balling the free-throw. Technical free-throws can be taken by any player of the team who is on the floor.

Usually, the best free-throw shooter is sent to shoot these, and hence not a lot of them are missed. Moreover, this may be the first time someone shot an airball on a tech free-throw. Although this stat is not factually verified, Marc J. Spears of ESPN tweet about the same anyway.

Kuzma did end up playing excellent basketball after missing this shot, however, it is unlikely anyone would let him hear the last of it anytime soon.

As it can be expected, NBA Twitter took no mercy on Kyle Kuzma after that disaster. One of the fans couldn’t believe that Kuz would have such a disastrous miss.
