“Isaiah Thomas to be signed by Lakers or Bucks”: Rumors claim former MVP candidate could team up with LeBron James or Giannis Antetokounmpo
According to trade rumors, the Los Angeles Lakers and the Milwaukee Bucks might be in the business of signing Isaiah Thomas this season.
Once a near 29 point per game scorer, Isaiah Thomas was lauded as one of the best point guards in the league merely a few years ago. Thomas found a home with the Boston Celtics, where he had his best season in 2016-17.
Thomas gave everything he had to the Celts that season, leading them to the Conference Finals while struggling with the untimely passing of his sister and a major hip injury.
Boston would appreciate Isaiah’s commitment to their franchise, but would not reciprocate it. They would end up trading him to the Cavaliers later that summer for Kyrie Irving. This would be the first step in a domino effect that would result in his departure from the league.
Fast-forward to present-day and IT is active on social media more than ever, claiming he’s never felt better and is raring to go for any NBA franchise that would be willing to give him a chance.
Isaiah Thomas could join the Lakers or the Bucks this season
With the trade deadline approaching in a couple of days, teams that are considered as Playoff contenders are looking to bolster their roster as they go into the postseason. Teams such as the Los Angeles Lakers and the Brooklyn Nets have been linked to various players like Andre Drummond and PJ Tucker, guys who can contribute to a potential title run.
It seems as though Isaiah Thomas could be added to this mix as well. It is being reported that both the Milwaukee Bucks and the Los Angeles Lakers are interested in pursuing the 5’9 guard.

The Lakers have a great defense to surround Isaiah Thomas with so his lack of defensive ability could possibly be covered for. But then again, with the amount of switches that take place in the league today, teams would definitely hunt Thomas down to attack on offense.
However, he could provide a solid offensive burst off the bench. His recent play for Team USA looked promising to say the least. The Milwaukee Bucks, after giving up on George Hill, could definitely use a solid ball-handler like Isaiah, who could take the pressure off of Donte DiVincenzo.
