Is Kyrie Irving playing tonight vs Magic? Nets release All-Star’s groin injury report ahead of game against Nikola Vucevic and co
Kyrie Irving and his availability is up in the air ahead of Brooklyn’s game against the Orlando Magic tonight due to groin soreness.
The Brooklyn Nets have been living up to the monumental expectations that were placed on them when James Harden made his way to the Eastern Conference.
They are currently neck-and-neck with the Philadelphia 76ers for the number one seed in the East. They haven’t even had the entirety of their core in Kevin Durant, James Harden, and Kyrie Irving suit up together in over 5 weeks.
This is of course due to Kevin Durant’s left hamstring injury, which will likely keep him out for another 2 weeks. With talks of a potential MVP season from Kevin Durant being transferred over to James Harden, it is easy to dismiss Kyrie Irving at times as he plays 3rd fiddle to both former MVPs in most people’s eyes.
He has however proved to be one of the most efficient volume scorers in the league this season, averaging 28 points on 52% shooting from the field and 41% from beyond the arc. If he were to miss tonight’s bout against the Magic, the Nets would surely miss him.
Is Kyrie Irving playing tonight?
After dropping 34 points in a thriller against the New York Knicks, Irving missed the Nets’ next game against the Indiana Pacers which featured James Harden putting up a 40 triple double.
He missed the game due to groin soreness and it is this soreness that necessitates his presence on tonight’s injury report. He is currently listed as probable going into tonight’s game against the Magic, which would technically mean he has a much higher chance of taking to the court than he has of sitting out the bout.
Nets Status Report for tomorrow night’s game at Orlando, per team.
Irving (right groin soreness) – PROBABLE
Durant (left hamstring strain) – OUT
Griffin (left knee – injury management) – OUT
Dinwiddie (right knee) – OUT

The decision to play most likely rests in Kyrie Irving’s hands and how he’s feeling as it seems as though it will be a game-time decision.
