“Ferrari comes in and offers like 30% more salary”- Everybody at Mercedes rejected Ferrari offer claims Nico Rosberg
“Ferrari comes in and offers like 30% more salary”- Nico Rosberg reveals that Ferrari tried to hunt cream of Mercedes with a significant pay hike.
For the past seven years, Ferrari is trying its level best to reach the level of Mercedes, but it has failed to it until now, and in the process, have further decayed.
Former World Champion and Mercedes driver revealed that Ferrari had tried its best to lure the best personnel at the Brackley based team with attractive salary offers but always failed.
“One key ingredient of that was keeping the talent together in the way that Toto has. It’s unbelievable that every year you can imagine that Ferrari comes in and offers like 30% more salary to probably every single one of those top 15 people within Mercedes. Nobody has ever considered that,” said Rosberg.
“And that is testament to the culture that Toto has installed within Mercedes. How they all feel part of the family, they all love working there. So, they don’t even think about going somewhere else for a bit more money or something.”
Lewis Hamilton still the favourite.
Rosberg, the last man to beat Hamilton, has assured that the Brit is once again the favourite to win the title, even if Mercedes appears to struggle with the poor floor.
He argues that Hamilton is a beast of a driver, and it is unimaginable for someone to end ahead of him in points, as Rosberg is self-aware how tolling is that experience.
“Nobody can fathom somebody actually beating Lewis throughout the entire season on points. So, the money would still have to go on Lewis,” he said.
Hamilton has been an excellent performer over the years, but his dominance has now agitated a significant majority, and they can’t wait to see a new era in Formula 1.
