Kevon Looney says Stephen Curry asked the team to take a deep look at themselves after losing their fourth straight game. 

The Golden State Warriors were by far the most dominant team during the late 2010s. Many believe it was the brilliance of Stephen Curry that brought on the dynasty.

However, the supporting cast matter massively to the success of a franchise as well. And it appears fans of the Warriors are learning that in the hardest way imaginable.

The franchise of course is already missing Klay Thompson. But recently, even Stephen Curry suffered a serious injury, that will keep him out for quite a while. This has left the Golden State Warriors in a serious tailspin, with the team having lost its last four games.

With the team’s dire situation, Curry had some strict words for his teammates. And after their most recent game, Kevon Looney revealed what was said in the locker room.

Stephen Curry and Draymond Green use tough love to uphold the Warriors’ winning culture 

The Golden State Warriors have suffered quite a few injuries this season. But the most devastating one is undoubtedly to Stephen Curry. And with the team’s level collapsing significantly, the face of the franchise had a few words with his teammates.

After listening to Kevon Looney’s version of what happened, NBA reporter Nick Friedell said the following on the situation.

“Looney said that Curry had a message for his teammates after the game — basically to look themselves in the mirror and see how they can get better. Looney said he appreciated the message and noted that Draymond offered a few words as well.”

It is easy to understand Stephen Curry’s frustration here. The player has been a winner for most of his career, and has always had one of the biggest competitive drives in the NBA. Now the team needs to learn something from their star, and try and show more grit during games.

Only then can this team evolve into something resembling a playoff team without the brilliance of Stephen Curry.
