Brooklyn Nets game postponed: Did Kevin Durant and co’s game against Minnesota Timberwolves get cancelled because of Daunte Wright shooting?
The Brooklyn Nets will not be playing the Minnesota Timberwolves tonight. This decision came in the wake of the Daunte Wright shooting.
The neighborhood of Minneapolis is once again gripped by racial tension and protests after this recent incident. A lady police officer seems to have shot the 20-year-old Daunte Wright by mistake, judging from initial reports.
The fatal encounter began just before 2 p.m. local time Sunday. Brooklyn Center police pulled over Wright when they noticed that his car had expired tags.
Wright initially appeared to be surrendering civilly to the police after they asked him to step out. The 20-year-old then began to dodge back into his car, where his girlfriend was seated.
The female police officer on site warned Wright that she’d be tasing him. However, she discharged her loaded service revolver instead, shooting Wright as he drove away with his girlfriend. She also sustained injuries in the event.
The city of Minneapolis is currently in a stage of siege. County police have tried to impose a curfew, and they’re trying to amicably send protesters back to no effect.

The Brooklyn Nets will be aiming to wrestle control of the top seed back. They will need to win both games of this back-to-back set in order to do so. While Kevin Durant is back in action, the Nets will be missing Kyrie Irving for both games.
They’ll likely also be without James Harden in the point guard’s role. This means that KD will have to fashion another carry job in order for them to pick up the pace.
