“Dr. Kyle Lowry, doctorate in greatness”: Raptors legend cracks hilarious joke regarding him being awarded a doctorate by Acadia
Kyle Lowry is going to be awarded an honorary doctorate from Acadia University. The Raptors legend joked about it after their win yesterday.
There are few players in the NBA today who have Lowry’s pedigree on either end of the floor. In terms of traditional point guard play, Lowry is right up there with the likes of Chris Paul.
Lowry has also been an elite shooter through 15 seasons in the league. The Vilanova guard was instrumental in the Raptors emerging victorious through Games 3 and 4 of the 2019 NBA Finals.
In addition, Lowry is also a mischievous practical joker in every sense of the word. Kyle understands comic timing and facial expressions like a professional comedian, and he doesn’t hesitate from showing off his funny bones.
This was apparent in the Raptors’ post-game presser after an emphatic win over the Brooklyn Nets. Lowry believes the Raptors can make the play-in game, and he’s got damn good reasons for it.
Kyle Lowry jokes about his soon-to-be-acquired doctorate
A win over the Eastern Conference’s most feared playoff team will do a world of good to Toronto. The Raptors legend realizes this as he responded with some serious answers for most of the presser.
Lowry, however, could not contain himself when the topic of his imminent doctorate award came up. The former Vilanova guard is really excited about the prospect of being able to call himself ‘Dr. Kyle Lowry’.
“It ain’t official yet but when it’s official I will not respond to anything other than Dr. Lowry.” What will he be a doctor of? “Doctor of Greatness.”

Our Dr of Greatness shall always have a place in the hearts of Raptors fans long after he retires.
