“When LeBron James comes back we’re having a conversation”: Lakers star calls for his teammates to improve their offense and chemistry
Ahead of his injury return, Dennis Schroder wants LeBron James to intervene and up the Lakers’ game ahead of the playoffs.
The Lakers have a lot of catching up to do as a unit this year. Having LeBron James and Anthony Davis on the same team tends to increase your chances in the postseason, but it still need them to build a certain level of chemistry with new teammates.
The Lakers have a virtually new frontcourt compared to last season. Marc Gasol started the season as the starting center, but he’s now been phased out in favor of Andre Drummond. Montrezl Harrell continues to light up opposition defenses in his role as a bench scorer and energy guy.
Dennis Schroder and Kyle Kuzma have emerged as the Lakers’ new leaders in the absence of LeBron and AD. The Lakers have too much talent not to sort things out before the postseason.
But they’d prefer not to play the play-in tournament, a position they might be in danger of being in if they’re not too careful.
Dennis Schroder says the return of LeBron James will help the Lakers to sort their chemistry quickly
Schroder agrees that the Lakers will need to continue their recent upward trend, with or without LeBron. James is scheduled to return some time next week, providing the Lakers with the biggest boost in the league. But they’ll need to be in the winning mentality with or without The King:
“Getting Ws still even with people out. AD was in there the last two games. But before then he was out and we still fought out there tried to get wins.”
Still Schröder isn’t worried about the Lakers’ long-term.
“We’re going to be fine, but in the meantime we’ve still got to get wins.”

“Everybody just got to step it up now. We’re going to talk about it I think when Bron comes back. We’re going to have a conversation as a team because our chemistry like AD said off the floor is great, but on the court, we just got to turn it up some more. Like I said, we’re going to be fine but in the meantime, we still got to get wins.”
