Deuce Tatum bore witness to Jayson Tatum’s historic 60-point game last night. He probably echoes the sentiments expressed by Tristan Thompson.

Jayson Tatum put the Celtics on his back last night, leading them to an improbable 32-point comeback win. It was a carry job, the likes of which we’ve seen legends like Kobe Bryant pull off in their heyday.

The Spurs shot off to an incredibly hot start in the first half, carrying a 29-point lead to the locker room. The Celtics relied almost completely on Tatum for all their offense from the start. JT had the first 12 points for the Cs – an indication of things to come.

The Celtics rained hell and fire in the second half and overtime, scoring 95 points in just 29 minutes of game time. Their role players came up big – Aaron Nesmith, in particular was amazing on both ends of the floor.

Boston had the chance to practically put the game away in regulation as Tatum got 2 free throws with less than 20 seconds left and the team 1 point up. He missed one of his 2 freebies, and DeRozan tied it all up at the other end in return.

However, Tatum made up for it by taking his tally up to 60 on the night with another scoring barrage in overtime. They needed every one of those points for this storybook win tonight.

Tristan Thompson himself had a huge role to play in the comeback. The former NBA champion grabbed 15 boards in 29 minutes. 8 of them were offensive rebounds that helped the Celtics keep possession.

Thompson couldn’t believe what he’d seen. This is the highest score that any of his teammates has ever tallied in the NBA. TT went all out in his post-victory celebrations.

As Deuce Tatum ran onto the court and got lapped up by his dad, TT came by to congratule Jayson. And addressing Deuce directly, Thompson exclaimed, “Your dad is a baaaaad man!”
