“Karl-Anthony Towns, you’re soft as baby sh*t”: Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler gets into a heated verbal altercation with the Timberwolves big man
Jimmy Butler gets into a heated exchange of words with Karl-Anthony Towns during the close encounter between the Heat and Timberwolves.
Trash talking has been a part of the league ever since the beginning. For many players, getting under their opponent’s skin and in their head mentally is a great defensive strategy. It seems to give all the players a competitive edge and something worth fighting over.
On Friday night, Jimmy Butler, known for his usual antics of poking players with words, exchanged some words with Minnesota’s Karl-Anthony Towns. During the 4th quarter of the match, Jimmy blasted KAT calling him “soft as baby sh*t”.

Considering how Town has been dealing with a lot of personal problems, losing family members due to COVID-19, probably calling him “soft” wasn’t the most considerate things Butler could’ve done. However, the Timberwolves centre didn’t pay much attention to it, ending up laughing it off.

Anthony Edwards plays down the trash talk between Karl-Anthony Towns and Jimmy Butler
Karl-Anthony Towns actually had a great game scoring 27 points and grabbing 6 rebounds on 8/16 shooting from the field. However, Jimmy too, matched KAT’s production stuffing the stat sheet with 25 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals.
Butler and Towns have had their fair share of past drama. Back when Jimmy Buckets was playing his final games at Minnesota, he famously defeated Towns and the rest of the starters with the reserve team. On Friday’s match, Butler didn’t hesitate to give Towns a little refresher about the same incident saying,” You’re a loser. I already punked you once.”
When KAT was asked about the altercation with Butler during the game, Minnesota rookie Anthony Edwards stepped into his leader’s defence and answered:
“Man, they grown men, dog. They just be talking, having a regular conversation, if you ask me… It’s no competition if we not talking sh*t to each other.”

Grabbing this victory, Miami improved their record to 36-31. Despite having a slow start to their 2020-2021 campaign, the Heat are now sitting on the 6th seed of the Eastern Conference.
With only 5 games left in their regular season, Jimmy and his Miami team would look to finish the season strong avoiding the controversial play-in tournament. Whereas for the Timberwolves, they are out of this year’s playoffs contingent.
