“Luka Doncic trick y’all into thinking he’s slow”: Kevin Durant heaps praise on Mavs youngster’s elite offensive instincts
Kevin Durant provides his insight into how tricky Mavericks’ star Luka Doncic can be on the offensive side of the floor.
The Brooklyn Nets are in the middle of a rough patch at the moment. The franchise has lost all of it’s last 4 games, and won only 5 of it’s last 10. For any other franchise, this would be the sign to go into panic mode.
However, everyone around the Nets seems to be confident that there is nothing to worry about. And a large reason for that is presence of Kevin Durant.
The player has suffered multiple injuries even after his return from the Achilles rupture he suffered in the 2019 NBA finals. For anybody else, this would cause them to have some serious rust whenever they do eventually step on the court. However, the Slim Reaper has always seemingly been unbothered by it, with little if any steps lost due to injury.
The star has been on a fit stretch lately. And during this period, he was able to face off against Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks. He went on to be on the losing side of that tie as the Slovenian story dominated the game. The finals score was 113-109.
Durant later went on to make some very interesting comments about the player, and how difficult it can be to guard him. Let’s get into it.

Luka Doncic has never been a very fast athlete. In fact, he has always been known to play a very slow game. The player plays at his own pace, and is never shaken by the opponent, which is part of the reason he is one of the best already.
However, it is a tad bit shocking to know that the player could intentionally being slower than he is, to trick opponents into letting him gain a step on them.
We have always known he is a high IQ player. But it would be absurd if he was intentionally playing this level of a mind game with the rest of the league.
But then again, you can’t bet completely against it. They don’t call it Luka Magic for anything.
