“Russell Westbrook nearly had a triple double in the 4th quarter alone?!”: Skip Baylesss shocked as Wizards star posts incredible 4th quarter stats en route to 182nd career triple double
Russell Westbrook posted up a near triple double in the 4th quarter of the Wizards loss to the Hawks en route to his 182nd triple double.
Russell Westbrook has been nothing short of electric this 2020-21 NBA season. Entering this season, Westbrook was deemed to be a liability on any team due to his bloated supermax contract and the fact that he has proven up until now that he cannot be a formidable second option on a championship caliber team.
However, his inability to reach the NBA Finals doesn’t take away from the fact that he’s having yet another statistically incredible season where he averages a triple double on the year for the 4th straight season. Russell Westbrook is averaging 22 points, 11 assists, and 11 rebounds on the season and is doing so while breaking a record that’s been held by Oscar Roberston for 47 years.
In a losing effort to the Atlanta Hawks last night, Russ dropped yet another triple double, making it his 182nd career triple double. This effectively places him atop this list, passing the Big O in the process.
Russell Westbrook nearly had a triple double in the 4th quarter alone.
Skip Bayless took to Twitter to congratulate Brodie on his incredible performance and for making history once again. The Washington Wizards compiled a video of many NBA personalities, including LeBron James, all of whom congratulated Russell Westbrook on the accomplishment.
CONGRATULATIONS, RUSSELL WESTBROOK, FOR BREAKING OSCAR ROBERTSON’S 47-YEAR-OLD CAREER TRIPLE-DOUBLE RECORD. NOBODY HAS EVER PLAYED HARDER EVERY SINGLE POSSESSION. NOBODY HAS EVER BEEN ABLE TO DOMINATE A STAT SHEET IN ALL 3 CATEGORIES THE WAY THIS MAN CAN.

An aspect of the 2017 MVP’s statline from last night seems to have slipped from everybody’s mind however, and that is the fact that Russell Westbrook nearly had a triple double in the 4th quarter of the loss to the Hawks.
He had 11 points, 10 assists, and 6 rebounds in this quarter alone, all while making no mistakes as he had 0 turnovers in this quarter as well. He put up a valiant effort in the 4th alongside Davis Bertans and Rui Hachimura but would suffer yet another 1 point loss in Bradley Beal’s absence.
