“Damian Lillard really just saved a fan’s house”: Blazers superstar sends LeBron James and the Lakers to the play in tournament by beating the Nuggets and reaching 42 wins
Damian Lillard saves a fan’s house by reaching 42 wins and beating the Nuggets, while sending LeBron James and the Lakers to the play in.
Damian Lillard and the Portland TrailBlazers had perhaps their most successful day of the season last night. Not only did they help send LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers to the play in and avoided it themselves, but also, indirectly, carried out an enormous favor for a Blazers fan that cast a bet on the Portland team during the season.
With the Blazers effectively avoiding the play in tournament, they will be allotted with nearly a week’s time of rest; something which is incredibly crucial for teams in this shortened season. They have also set themselves up for a date with Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets in the first round of the Playoffs.
Damian Lillard has been beyond exceptional this season, carrying an injury-riddled roster to a near-.600 record, all while maintaining his personal stats of 28.8 points per game and 7.5 assists per game. He even broke his own Blazers franchise record of made 3s in a season by draining 276 of them in a 72 game span.

One of the most intriguing storylines that took place during the latter end of the regular season was when a Twitter user of the name LordTreeSap came forth and claimed he bet his entire house on the Blazers reaching 42 wins in the season. With the remaining games being against powerhouse teams such as the Nuggets, Lakers, Nets, and more, this feat seemed highly unlikely.
Fast-forward to today and Damian Lillard pulled through on his, “say less,” promise from a month ago and pummeled the Nuggets in a blowout win in the final game of the regular season. Some could say that the Nuggets strategically lost this game so as to avoid playing the Lakers in the first round; but a win is a win.

Dame took to Twitter following the win to ask the Twitter user for receipts on actually having bet his house on the Blazers. Many are skeptical about whether or not he did actually put his entire house on the line for something as asinine as the Blazers winning 42 games. However, to his credit, he’s been extremely active on Twitter since Damian Lillard and the Blazers took care of business.
