“Ain’t nothing changing”: Richard Jefferson comments on LeBron James’ Covid-19 vaccine in wake of the Lakers star’s photoshoot with Drake
Richard Jefferson may have called LeBron James the NBA’s greatest scorer ever, but the former Nets star is under no illusion.
The NBA’s Covid-19 Health and Safety Protocols have been a subject of controversy all season long. James Harden, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant have all been punished by the league in one form or the other because of these rules.
NBA Fans fans are now up in arms because of the league’s apparent double standards when it comes to its favorite son. LeBron is being accused of receiving preferential treatment from league offices despite breaking protocol.
LeBron James got to play an NBA game just a few hours after being spotted at an outdoor public event. Had it been any other NBA player, the league would undoubtedly have been much freer to place sanctions.
Richard Jefferson trolls LeBron James in the wake of Covid-19 controversy
Kevin Durant was taken out of a Nets vs Raptors game in February despite testing negative for Covid. Contrasting this with how LeBron has only been fined for willingly breaking protocol is not lost on NBA fans.
Richard Jefferson addressed the same with his own input on Twitter. Just like everybody else, RJ knows the league can’t risk missing LeBron for one of the signature games of the season.
This is like the NBA’s 2 min report. Thanks for letting us know mistakes were made and ain’t nothing changing.🤣😂 https://t.co/ks54SxE6Kb

It’s a whole different matter whether LeBron James would have deserved a suspension or not. The facts of the matter are also that ultimately, there was no harm done to anyone.
Nevertheless, you can’t expect fans to sit quiet about the adjudication of these different Covid protocol violations. When protocols are made, they’re implemented so that everyone can follow. James is no different for the letter or the spirit of the law from any other player in the NBA.
